Éclat VA. Vol 3

Éclat Vol 3: spilt rubies in the flash frozen steam

Since 2018 Éclat Crew has been redefining the Berlin music industry as a collective of FLINTA* electronic music producers. Two years ago, the collective released its debut compilation, showcasing the talent within its vibrant community. Now, Éclat Crew proudly announces its third release – a dazzling and diverse collection of tracks that transcend genres, geographies, and aesthetics.

The title Éclat Vol 3: spilt rubies in the flash frozen steam embodies the essence of this dynamic collection of tracks. Éclat’s producers and DJs, who regularly grace lineups across Europe and beyond, bring their signature innovation and artistry to this release. Unsurprisingly, Éclat Vol 3: spilt rubies in the flash frozen steam is a rich source of sonic surprises and delights.

From the transcendent, healing ambiances of Joa Luna’s ‘Love Is Everything’ , to harmonies paired with bold percussions in Giugiu’s ‘O-EE’, alongside the hypnotic dancehall energy of Carmel Zoum’s ‘Demon Slayer’, this compilation vividly showcases the unparalleled range and creative depth of this renowned Berlin-based collective.

As with previous editions, the title and artwork for this volume have been designed by the multifaceted artist Judy Greta Moore aka Ignatz Höch + Hannah Mouse who also contributes her own Hi NRG goth track, Three black trash bags, a silk neck tie and a few dozen bear traps adding yet another layer of intrigue to this extraordinary release.

Joa Luna

Joa Luna creates patchworks of rich vibrating sound that interlace between avant-garde, ambient, electronica, broken beats and the unknown. Originally from Poland, she now occupies a unique space in the Berlin music scene and is actively involved with many projects and collectives including female:pressure, ECLAT Crew, Music Ashram, her current incarnation was nudged together by all these experiences and connections.

Connections are particularly important to Joa, the acceptance and embracing of the human experience inside nature guide every song. She is a daydreamer, a wandering creature. In order to express, transcend and understand the complexities of this modern life she constantly expands and tinkers with her toolbox of techniques and approaches.

What this manifests as is something that breathes air into the space around it, Joa moves with an electric sensuality, her body becoming as much a part of the performance as the music, one suspects even in the studio that this is the case and it carries into everything she does.

You want to move with Joa and join her in her ecstasy, an ecstasy that heals and imparts rarely granted freedom.

Love, Builder of Worlds

Love, Builder of Worlds is a multidisciplinary anti-binary agender artist belonging to the Olólúfè Collective, an artist collective with a focus on the most marginalized people. Love uses all and any pronouns as they found that “non-binary” did not encapsulate their resistance to colonial binary frameworks. Their work is informed and inspired by disabled people, people seeking asylum and gender non-conforming people of African descent. And with this, Love has found the foundation and lens for the intention to convey their music. Embodying the principle of anti-binary they move effortlessly through punk rock, neo-funk, disco, blues, afrobeats, alté, indie-electro pop and garage music demonstrating the breadth of their self-expression. The dynamism of their music compels one to movement and transports you to imagine the lived experience they are conveying through the sounds.
