Éclat Crew Part 124

We've used samples from German-based synth artist WangleLine before, and she always makes really lovely videos accompanying her work so you can learn about her process. Late last year she released stems for ALL of her released tracks, which is an amazing archive of work to delve into! Plus, her video (above) gives a bunch of information into what stems are and why we use them.

In today's challenge, we're going to be working with the stems from her 2023 track New Morning, from her album Honey.

Download the stems from her website here. You can "Name Your Own Price" or also skip straight to the downloads page to download for free; New Morning is the first track on the list.

Today's challenge is to make a mashup or remix of this track, keeping at least one element from the original in your new work. You can add any other samples, synths and instruments that you like, to make a track of ± 2 minutes long in two hours! Feel free to warp, crop, and mangle the samples as much as you like to your taste.

NB: the sample pack includes the usual WAV files, plus MIDI (.mid) files, which you can drag into your own MIDI tracks to experiment with new instruments with.

Submit your track to this Google Drive by 20:30pm, and then rejoin the Zoom call at 21:00 for our listening session!
