1. Data Controller
Éclat e.V., Harzer Str. 67, 12059 Berlin, Germany, is the data controller responsible for the processing of personal data described in this policy.
2. Overview
We process personal data only where necessary to run our website, communicate with workshop and events participants, and operate our newsletter. We do not use personal data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not share it for marketing purposes.
3. Contact Form
If you contact us via the contact form on our website, we process the information you submit (e.g. name, email, message) solely to respond to your inquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your inquiry relates to a contract.
4. Workshop Registration
We collect email addresses (and any other information requested) via Google Forms when you register for a workshop or a specific event. This data is used exclusively for organizing and communicating about that specific workshop (confirmations, logistics, updates), never for marketing purposes, and never shared with third parties beyond what’s needed to run the form. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps necessary prior to/for participation) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
We retain workshop registration data only for as long as reasonably necessary to organize the workshop and handle any related follow-up.
5. Newsletter
If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, this is entirely voluntary and initiated by you via the sign-up form on our website (powered by Mailchimp for WordPress / Mailchimp). We only send newsletter content to addresses that have actively and intentionally subscribed. Your email address is processed by Mailchimp, our newsletter service provider (based in the US; appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses apply to this transfer). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every newsletter email.
6. Security
Our website uses Wordfence Security to protect against malicious traffic and attacks. This may involve temporary processing of IP addresses and request data for security purposes. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in website security).
7. Cookies
Our website may set technically necessary cookies required for core functionality (form submission, security). We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking purposes.
8. Recipients of Data
