This week we are extremely excited to welcome Guest Curators Nguyễn + Transitory, also the minds behind Queer Ear Mastering!
Nguyễn + Transitory is composed of Nguyễn Baly and Tara Transitory. They founded and run Queer Ear Mastering, a studio committed to providing their clients professional quality masters, advice on multichannel sound for installation work and dramaturgical advice on sound for all mediums. On top of this, making sure that the process is as comfortable as possible especially for FLINTA* clients based on their own lived experience as queer and trans-feminine artists.
Their artistic work crosses the disciplines of sound, performance and installation. Working mainly with performance, modular synthesizers and analog tape, they attempt to approach sound, synthesis, noise, rhythm and performance through a less colonial lens – looking into how to create scenarios with touch-activated musical instruments that enable collective music making through touch. Their practice involves the effort to empirically learn more about various Southeast Asian and diasporic queer existences and lost histories.
This week our sample pack comes straight from the Queer Ear Mastering Studio. Download the samples here!
You can use them, mash them, and morph them, plus you can add any other samples, synths or sounds that you like to make a track of ± 2 mins long.
Upload your track here by 20:30 CEST, and then rejoin the Zoom call at 21:00 for the listening session to check out what everyone's made!
Here's what we made!
