Imagine my delight when a couple of days before Halloween one of my favourite artists released an acapella and a solo instrumental with an invitation to make "Spooky Halloween Edits"!
Caroline Polachek first found fame as half of the indie rock duo Chairlift, but has since released albums under a variety of monikers, including Ramona Lisa and CEP, until she started releasing beautifully complex pop music under her own name.
If you'd like to send money direct to the artist, you can download the samples from Bandcamp here for only 2€. However, to participate in tonight's challenge you can also grab both the acapella and the instrumental from WeTransfer here. The challenge today is to use these samples plus ANY other samples, sounds or synths that you like, to make a new track of ± 2 minutes long. You can stretch, warp, and effect the samples as much as you like, so get creative.
Please upload your track to this Google Drive by 20:30 Berlin time, and then rejoin the Zoom call at 21:00 for our celebratory listening session!
